Christmas and January sales for romantic shoppers!
Author: admin
Wow, the christmas sales are shaping up to be fabulous for everyone, and that includes romantic shoppers like you who are looking to buy perfume, holidays, trips and city breaks, jewellery, lingerie, flower, chocolates, in fact – you name it, it’ll be getting heavily marked down as soon as retailers have given up on getting pre christmas sales (and that is any minute now).
The “credit crunch” is forcing retailers to pull out all the stops, and that not only means offering their regular products at the best possible prices, but it also means that many are selling to survive. With insolvencies increasing by the week, even sales are massively cometitive because there simply aren’t enough pounds being spent to go round. Therefore, undercutting is the order of the day, which is brilliant news if you are a customer looking to get the most for your money!
The Euro exchange rate is so dreadful that it will be interesting to see what happens in the travel industry in the new year. My guess is that sales will be so bad that they will have to not only slash prices, but also improve the levels of services being offered as an inclusive price (just when everyone was getting used to be scammed by being surcharged for all sorts of things). Also, I expect more half board and all inclusive offers to be available because with the Euro now almost at parity with the pound, even if you can afford to get over to Europe (or the USA), once there, you’ll find it incredibly expensive to buy almost anything and if you go abroad for a holiday and can’t afford to eat, drink and be merry, then chances are, you won’t go at all.
We’ll be doing our best to flag up some of the best deals for romantic getaways and treats so please bookmark us and pop back regularly. Meantime, have a lovely christmas, you and yours, and we’ll see you soon. Keep an eye on Find a Cheap Holiday if you’re on the lookout for bargain travel and holidays from the UK.

Perfume derives from the Latin “per fumum“, meaning through smoke. Perfumes were made as far back as in ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt but the art of perfumery was became more sophisticated under the Romans and Persians.
Perfume or and after shave is a timeless gift and always well received. Even better, it’s almost like a gift to yourself if you choose a fragrance that you love, as well as your partner. Needless to say, there is a world of perfume to choose from. I would recommend sticking with the classic established brands like Calvin Klein, Estee Lauder, Hugo Boss etc. unless you know that your better half has a particular favourite in mind. Both Men and women can become very attached to a particular perfume or after shave, and identify with it rather like they might stick to a style of clothing – so be careful about choosing something radically different to their favourite because they might simply fail to identify with it, or think that you are challenging their tastes.
Be careful about buying perfume online – make sure you choose a reputable perfume supplier like Perfume Point (see below) because there is a huge market in fake perfumes. In fact, it’s one of the products that has been sold as fake way back before the internet took off – and fake perfume sellers claiming to have “a few bottles at a bargain price” was a regular sight on Oxford Street until trading standards started to get on top of things.
Be very careful about ebay sellers as well, and make sure you check their feedback to ensure that other people haven’t complained about the authenticity of the fragrances.
Lingerie, sexy, sensuous and an always appreciated!

A gift of sexy lingerie is an obvious choice, but a good one for any occasion. UK romantics have a pretty good choice of suppliers on the internet as well, all of whom offer great lingerie at good prices. Not every man is comfortable hanging around the women’s underwear department in big stores, and even less are confident enough to take on specialist lingerie shops on their own. I don’t know why that is, because men are hardly likely to be looking at the products for their own tittilation. If anyone works in a lingerie shop or department I’d love to hear what you think when you see a man lurking around looking at the bras and knickers. Chances are, men only “look” a bit strange, when they act a bit strange. And they probably act a bit strange because they think they look a bit strange, if you get what I mean. It’s a vicious circle of lingerie buying embarassment that just shouldn’t exist but it sometimes does!
On to the offers around and abouts – Lingerie Express sell a great range of fine quality lingerie, in fact, they have some jaw droppingly sexy lines, and they are currently offering free delivery on all orders over £50. They also have a stunning range of Bridal lingerie and if that display doesn’t more men rushing down to the jewellers for an engagement ring then I don’t know what.
Lingerie-Confidential also has an amazing range and another fantastic range of Bridal lingerie. They also do a very interest range of Adult Fancy dress costumes for those looking to inject a bit of fun into their evenings.
Well, where to start – it can be tough choosing that something special for the someone special in your life. Ok, there are certain times in the year when we all feel obligated to buy a romantic gift for someone special – I’m talking about Valentine’s day, birthday’s and possible your anniversary (whether married or not I guess these days). I’m going to be looking at some of the best online vendors of some of the best gift ideas to woo your better half. But remeber, you can give a special romantic gift at any time of year – OK, there’s christmas and if you are a parent, maybe mother’s/father’s day, but there’s nothing to stop you from injecting a little love and romance into your relationships at any time – and it doesn’t necessarily have to cost you a fortune either (what with the credit crunch etc. I will be trying to find good value suggestions and not just pointing out the biggest diamond ring sellers – though I’ll try and do that too!).
Who said romance is dead? Your suggestions are welcome too. And don’t forget, the best romantic gifts are often the ones you can’t buy – they’re the things you do – or even things that you can make yourself, no matter how small.
