Wow, the christmas sales are shaping up to be fabulous for everyone, and that includes romantic shoppers like you who are looking to buy perfume, holidays, trips and city breaks, jewellery, lingerie, flower, chocolates, in fact – you name it, it’ll be getting heavily marked down as soon as retailers have given up on getting pre christmas sales (and that is any minute now).

The “credit crunch” is forcing retailers to pull out all the stops, and that not only means offering their regular products at the best possible prices, but it also means that many are selling to survive. With insolvencies increasing by the week, even sales are massively cometitive because there simply aren’t enough pounds being spent to go round. Therefore, undercutting is the order of the day, which is brilliant news if you are a customer looking to get the most for your money!

The Euro exchange rate is so dreadful that it will be interesting to see what happens in the travel industry in the new year. My guess is that sales will be so bad that they will have to not only slash prices, but also improve the levels of services being offered as an inclusive price (just when everyone was getting used to be scammed by being surcharged for all sorts of things). Also, I expect more half board and all inclusive offers to be available because with the Euro now almost at parity with the pound, even if you can afford to get over to Europe (or the USA), once there, you’ll find it incredibly expensive to buy almost anything and if you go abroad for a holiday and can’t afford to eat, drink and be merry, then chances are, you won’t go at all.

We’ll be doing our best to flag up some of the best deals for romantic getaways and treats so please bookmark us and pop back regularly. Meantime, have a lovely christmas, you and yours, and we’ll see you soon. Keep an eye on Find a Cheap Holiday if you’re on the lookout for bargain travel and holidays from the UK.

Well, where to start – it can be tough choosing that something special for the someone special in your life. Ok, there are certain times in the year when we all feel obligated to buy a romantic gift for someone special – I’m talking about Valentine’s day, birthday’s and possible your anniversary (whether married or not I guess these days). I’m going to be looking at some of the best online vendors of some of the best gift ideas to woo your better half. But remeber, you can give a special romantic gift at any time of year – OK, there’s christmas and if you are a parent, maybe mother’s/father’s day, but there’s nothing to stop you from injecting a little love and romance into your relationships at any time – and it doesn’t necessarily have to cost you a fortune either (what with the credit crunch etc. I will be trying to find good value suggestions and not just pointing out the biggest diamond ring sellers – though I’ll try and do that too!).

Who said romance is dead? Your suggestions are welcome too. And don’t forget, the best romantic gifts are often the ones you can’t buy – they’re the things you do – or even things that you can make yourself, no matter how small.
